Holie Smit

White lies are minor lies which could be considered to be harmless, or even beneficial, in the long term. White lies are also considered to be used for greater good.

Back from Florida and Dads surprise birthday party. Joanne and Shelley arrived on Thursday afternoon. Georgie and I came in on Friday, and the biggest surprise was Steve and Suzan on Saturday. I have to say that we had a great time. I am so proud of my brother and sister for going, considering all of them including Georgie had been in Florida within the last few months.

Its was a surprise for Dad. Mom is going to have to go to church twice a week for the next month for all the lies that she told.

Georgie is glad its over. I haven't a clue how she kept the secret. I could tell that she was thinking before she spoke.

Great party on Saturday night, drinking with a bunch of old farts. The high light of the night was Georgie in a golf cart race. She won without having to flash the other cart. Shelley won the golf game, and kept her shirt on also. Needless to say we didn't see many ta ta's.

Glad to be home with the rain and cold

Enough Already

It sure seems that the only thing in the news lately is this "Health Care Reform". Now don't get me wrong, I do believe that there needed to be some changes, and yes I agree with some of them. "Some" being the key word. I just can't figure out how we are going to cover 30 million more people and actually save money. Come on I'm not that stupid, I can do basic math. Sure we will start paying the new tax next year, and the benefits don't kick in until 2014. So we pay for 10 years of coverage and only get 7.  I do hope that the American people wake up in November and restore the balance of power in Washington. I think I'm better off when they don't get anything done.

Poop Patrol

Another fine day, I spent some time in Saturday putting siding on the house. Its starting to look much better. If the rain holds off today I should have the last side finished. Georgie went on "poop patrol" yesterday, picking up after Cash. I was amazed that she was able to fill the wheel barrel, and there is still more out there. Just lots of crap.

The Cadets won the NCAA National Division III championship in double overtime. The next game will be the Beer Olympics.

A few pictures of Guinness ( the fire breathing dragon) this week. He is happy today, Georgie gave he and Midnight a good spring brushing.

Choice Made

editor note: The following is from Matt's site. I've know Matt for many years when I lived in Hartland. He is a stand up guy that does what his promises.

I just signed up to keep in touch with the most interesting candidate in the Governor's race, Matt Dunne. You should check out the campaign too: http://www.MattDunne.com

He's different from the other people in the race. He's had all kinds of experience, but most importantly he's focused on where Vermont can go, and how we can all participate in that new era. I think you might like what he has to say.

Another End

Well its the end of another home hockey season at Norwich. I would dare to say that last nights had to be the best game to watch of the year. We were down by 1 after the first 6 minutes and stayed that way until the last minute of regulation. We tied it up and went in overtime. We scored first to end the game.

Spent some time putting siding on the house to finish up last fall improvement. Looks like a couple more days and I will have it finished.

Cash and I have been home alone since Thursday cause Georgie has been Florida. Good thing that she is coming home tomorrow, Cash and I have ran out of clean cloths and the fig is empty.

Just kidding the laundry is done and , well we are out of food.

Hope you all have a safe and happy week.

Responsibility and Accountability

I'm very disturbed from watching the news tonight. Its really not a new concept that if you aren't doing a good job then you could loose that job. A for profit company makes money but employing the best people that they can afford. They don't want people that seem to find nothing but excuses for things that go wrong. What they do want is people that think outside the box, dig for any ounce of success that can be gotten, and that are responsible for both there success and failures.

So maybe those people should just take there pink slips and move on to somewhere else where the bar isn't set as high. This would open up the positions for someone else, who can't possibly preform any worse.

The fact that we pay taxes, which continue to rise out of control and not demand responsibility and accountability  is just crazy.

Hit Counter

OK, I was just looking at my blog and noticed that the hit counter was over 400. I started counting in January.  I know that I don't have that many friends, or the time to maintain that many. Thank You So for looking at my blog and for hitting the refresh button and indexing my counter. At this rate I should be pushing 2000 by the end of the year. You people have way to much time on you hands :^)

Skunks Again

The end of another week. We got 24 inches of snow and then a bunch of rain and wind. We didn't loose our power like many did. I am starting my seasonal skunk battle. The trap has been set. I'm at odds on how to kill them, the pond is still frozen over so I guess that drowning is out of the question. I guess that it will have to resort to lead poisoning instead. My bike arrived and Georgie, Dad, Dean and I went up to see it. Very nice lots of chrome. Can't wait for things to dry out so I can ride it.
